Thanks for sharing this, it was so great to see the original set for Follies designed as you said by the brilliant Boris Aronson. I was thinking of the Follies set while watching An American In Paris and was wondering to myself if Bob Crowley was paying homage to Boris in the Stairway To Paradise number? The way the little drab night club is magically transformed in a few seconds to a glorious new club. The way the set flies in just as the loveland set flew in in Follies and it has a similar sort of look to it. In fact that evening I ran into Mr. Crowley before the show and told him he was my most favorite designer since Boris Aronson.
