after seeing AIP it should be discounted, in my opinion... I had to search the Tony site but did find the mission statement, sort of, under the Antoinette Perry tab. "The American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards® got their start in 1947 when the Wing established an awards program to celebrate excellence in the theatre." The quality of being extremely good seemed missing for me.
