At 15 at the fisher theater. I had inky seen regional stuff. My mom used to go to Broadway when she was living in jersey in her teens and 20s, but got married and moved away. She was a Huge fan of matinee idol Rock Hudson so she wanted to venture into dangerous Detroit to see it.

I remember the opening number was the disaster production number that jaffe has to leave town from investors. (The number is cut from current revival). My mom looked at my sister with that lol of oh god , this is aweful. But the. The show starts and everyone relaxes.

Loved loved loved imagine coca. A few years later I made them take me to see a little bulesque with imagine and Sid Caesar. I dint like that show, but I was too young to get it and the bygone era it tried to recapture.

Anyway, back to century, I really couldn't judge Hudson, so I liked him and he was still good looking for an older man. And Judy Kaye was great.

Spoiler---

At the end of the show when lily is about to sign the contract for Jaffe dying wish, I was so caught up I almost blurted out don't sing it. I would have been mortified if I didn't catch myself, but that is how much I love this show. I think the current revival is fantastic and I really wish they would bring it on tour.

By the way, my first Broadway show was the rink with Chita Rivera. So I took great pleasure in revisiting my firsts this spring.
