At an average ticket price of $70, costs are not covered. That's a fact of life. So yes, it would be nice if some philanthropist came along and subsidized your theatre-going but that does not always happen. And if a show does not sell out (as this one may), those prices are simply the rack rate. Finally, $150 is an amount to be paid by someone who wants to support their work and/or to make those $15 tickets possible. Complaining about the cost of things is fun, though, isn't it?

Hey, as long as they're offering $15. tickets, I'm okay. The joint is pretty small. So unless these seats are in the john, I'll be okay. I'd love to see it but after that brilliant performance at the Harvey with Fiona Shaw, it's gonna be a tough act to follow. But Mr. Shaloub has yet to disappoint, so if anything, $15. to see him will be money well spent (unless the john they seat me in isn't sanitary).

The Flea has been charging $75 for their top ticket ever since they started doing those 5-hour shows with dinner included a few years ago.

The price makes sense for a show like that, but $75 for an Off-Off-Broadway show is criminal. Especially when it's a Bats production and the poor kids aren't even being paid to be in the show.
