THE ROARING GIRL
By Thomas Middleton & Thomas Dekker

JUNE 4 – JUNE 21, 2015
THE ACCESS THEATRE GALLERY
380 BROADWAY, NYC

Everyday Inferno Theatre Co. is thrilled to announce an ambitious repertory project that will continue its commitment to presenting exciting new works, under-produced classics, and theatrical events that push the boundaries of subject matter and stagecraft. Transforming the Access Theater Gallery into an immersive space with a distinct nightclub vibe, the two shows will play in rotation for a three-week limited run. The rotating schedule provides ample opportunity for audiences to discover surprising parallels between these very different works.

THE ROARING GIRL, a Jacobean city comedy by Thomas Middleton and Thomas Dekker, is a play so shockingly modern that it remains rarely produced to this day. Its heroine, Moll Cutpurse, is a cross-dressing, ass-kicking, whip-smart joker - a wildly fun and complex female character like none you've seen before. This hilariously messy sex comedy takes a hard look at marriage, gender, and fidelity, and finds a lot to laugh about along the way. It's filthy, it's romantic, it's transgressive, and yes (in case you're wondering), there are some seriously awesome sword fights.

In PUNK AS FUCK, a world-premiere play by Michael K. White and Dianna Stark, youth, passion, and ideals collide on a fateful Friday night in 1991. It's the era of grunge, alt-rock, and 90s punk, and a garage band has gathered for a rehearsal that will end up taking them on an emotional roller coaster through their deepest secrets and hidden longings. Set against a background of live music, this is a play for anyone who has ever been young, angry, and in love (and, let’s be honest, that means it’s for everyone).

THE ROARING GIRL is directed by Anais Koivisto, with Stage Combat by Jon Meyer. PUNK AS FUCK is directed by Katherine Sommer. The cast of PUNKS & PROVOCATEURS features: Erin Beirnard (The Irondale Ensemble Project), Alyssa Block, Joel DeCandio, Malloree Hill (Utah Shakespeare Festival), Kisky Holwerda, Max Hunter (Pearl Theatre Company, Hudson Valley Shakespeare), Anna Clare Kerr, Jon Meyer, Rebeca Miller (Repertory Theatre of St Louis, Cincinnati Playhouse), Ryan Mills (Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, St. Louis Shakespeare in the Park), Preston Mulligan, Sam Ogilvie, Jacob Owen, Alexis Robbins, Russell Sperberg (New Ohio Theatre, YOUARENOWHERE at the COIL Festival), Matt Walker (Arkansas Rep, Sundance Film “Price Check”), Quinn Warren (Theatre for a New Audience), and Quinn Wise.

Tickets for PUNKS & PROVOCATEURS cost $18 for one play or $20 for both and can be reserved in advance online at punksandprovocateurs.bpt.me. Performances run June 4th to June 21st, evenings and matinees, in rotation (the full schedule is included below). The Access Theatre Gallery is located at 380 Broadway, New York, NY 10013, near Canal Street on the N, Q, R, 6, J, A, C, & E lines.
