I saw this production in Los Angeles last year. Ms. Adams is no Fiona Shaw; although she is a valiant and diligent worker, she really lacks the unique depth for this. I don't know if she's done it elsewhere, but great reviews for a "star" doing theater in L.A. might not necessarily mean success in New York. Mr. Shalhoub (who is her husband) does indeed do very little lifting but what he does do (and it is a scant few minutes) is solid. But don't see the play for him! I cannot imagine paying $75 for this, let alone $150. Not that I want to discourage theater-going but good luck to them!
