I was there last night, and Chelsea was with them. I don't think anyone approached them, but people were staring at them before the show started. That's the main reason I noticed them -- I was trying to figure out why so many people were looking away from the stage!

Sarah Jessica Parker and Jack Falahee (from How to Get Away with Murder) were there as well, and I think I saw John Benjamin Hickey, too. (None of them were together.) I guess now that Hamilton has closed, the celebrities have to go somewhere else!

I thought the show was wonderfully done. It was sumptuous where it needed to be, and I thought the performances were rich in emotional complexity. Ken Watanabe is not a great singer, but I don't know if it matters. His diction is still not ideal (he's not enunciating his end consonants enough and his vowels can be off), but he's 95%+ understandable in the dialogue scenes. And he has charisma and is giving a beautifully layered performance. I thought Kelli O'Hara was much more detailed than her performance in South Pacific. She continues to grow and become even more superb. But the big revelation was Ruthie Ann Miles, who is richly deserving of her Tony nomination in a role that I never paid that much attention to before.

Afterwards, I was thinking that a great musical could be made of the life of Lady Thiang, trying to keep all the balls in the air amidst court intrigue and with a man full of contradictions.
