94!
Wasn't she just in the revival of "You Can't Take It With You?"
Time.

It was Elizabeth Ashley who was in "You Can't Take It With You."

Wilson played Penny in the '83 revival, opposite Jason Robards.

So, '83 is "just"?

Last sentence in winters's post was one word: "Time." Suggesting, I think, that it was hard to believe it was so long ago, it seems like just a few months ago.

Oh, come on. Seriously, this is not a big deal, but you read a lot into one word. Perhaps "Time" was meant as amazement that she was fully 94 years old. At any rate, when someone refers to someone having "just" appeared in a revival of a play that truly was "just" revived without her, you would agree he misspoke, right?

Translation: "How could Elizabeth Wilson be 94? It seems like only yesterday that she was barely in her 60s in You Can't Take It With You. Time certainly flies."

Admittedly cryptic and misleading (because of the recent YCTIWY revival). Some of us for some reason understood. One of those things. No big deal indeed.

Yes seriously. I did not perceive any hint of misspoke. The OP's intent was quite clear… to me. A fact that surprises even me.

I read the post and immediately viewed the point of the post as being that she hadn't just appeared in the revival, but that time had flown so quickly since she had appeared in the 1983 production when she was in her early 60s.

It did not seem to me that we were meant to take the post at all literally. Of course, if someone posted that Wilson had been in the recent revival and meant for us to take that as a statement of fact, that person would have misspoke. I thought that was not at all the poster's intention.

For some of us '83 is 'just'.

She was an amazing actress. Always believable.

I'm guessing she did more off-Broadway earlier in her career, but the Lortel site is pretty spotty on productions before the early 1960s.

Link Elizabeth Wilson Off-Broadway
