Hamilton Lottery

I went tonight, I'm not very good at gauging crowd size, but I think there were easily over 500 people vying for the $10 tickets.

Lin Manuel came out briefly and said "I think we're going to be here for a while so don't be upset if you don't win."

I've been doing lotteries since the Rent days and the only time I've ever seen so many people was the final performance of Rent. When it ended traffic was stopped on 46th Street because there were so many people.

I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to go online only, it was an absolute zoo.

And I didn't win.

Does anyone know how the view is from the 1st row seats that you sit in if you win the lottery?

Sure they could do a virtual lottery.

And give up publicity anyone would kill for.
Hundreds of people generating buzz and excitement 8 times a week? What producer would want that?

it will become almost impossible given the odds. If you think 700 entries is a lot for people who had to show up, wait and see what it's like for anyone in the tri-state area who just has to click a button on an app before noon, or whatever.

So then your chances will be like 20/10,000. Even if it's out of 2,000, that's exponentially higher than it needs to be.

It will become something that isn't an option to even consider.

Loved hearing there is a "wristband" rule, so tickets can't be resold. Terrific idea.

I wasn't there, but someone on Twitter posted there were 704 entries for the first preview.
