Napa St. in Sonoma. Evoking a fraternity of political assassins and would-be assassins across a hundred years of our history, Sondheim daringly examines success, failure and the questionable drive for power and celebrity in American society. Michael Kuchwara of the Associated Press described the work as "dark, demented humor, as horrifying as it is hilarious. Sondheim's piece is thought-provoking and brilliant.” The show is being produced by Narrow Way Stage Company. Producer Chris Ginesi feels “the real triumph of Assassins stems from its telling of just how strong the American story is, and how our nation doesn't stop dreaming because of the actions of a single madman.” The Cast is made up of Sonoma and Sonoma County locals; Adam Blankenship, Tim Setzer, Trevor Hoffman, Patrick St. John, Rick Love, Zane Walters, Sara Passemar, Brett Mollard, Ryan Whitlock, Matt Loewenstein, Erik Weiss, Nora Summers, Julia Holsworth and Theo Marvin. In stories, photos, videos and songs, Frank Sinatra, Jr. shares personal recollections of life on and off stage with his iconic father. Tickets to Sinatra Sings Sinatra are $59, $75 and $85 and are on sale now online at wellsfargocenterarts.org, by calling 707-546-3600 and in person at the box office at 50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa. The Sinatra legend began growing from the first hits with the big bands of Harry James and Tommy Dorsey to “The Voice,” as he became known in 1946, which made the bobbysoxers swoon. In later years he was referred to as “The Chairman of the Board” and eventually, “Ol’ Blue Eyes,” but the man behind these iconic descriptions remained an enigma. This show explains it all with excerpts from his films, rare family photos and insights into the world’s greatest entertainer that can only come from his son. But primarily the show is about the music of Sinatra. “Come Fly With Me,” “New York, New York,” “Strangers In The Night,” and of course “My Way,” plus many more will be backed by a full orchestra/big band featuring many of the same members who played with Sinatra, Sr. himself. Tickets to Sinatra Sings Sinatra are $59, $75 and $85 and are available through Wells Fargo Center for the Arts online at wellsfargocenterarts.org, by calling 707-546-3600, or in person at the ticket office at 50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa (open daily, noon to 6pm). | |
