Next time, consider taking BART to Berkeley. The Downtown Berkeley station is a block away from Berkeley Rep and Aurora.

Really looking forward to DOGFIGHT in a couple of weeks. I've really enjoyed their musicals consistently over the past few years. (and REALLY looking forward to CITY OF ANGELS)

Personally, I guess I'm not as familiar with the film (although I was charmed when seeing it originally and somewhat less so when rescreening before a Paris visit a few years ago). I had no issue with the differences. I had no problem with the non-accordian and general defrogging. However, in particular, it was just ridiculous for the characters refer to the cafe as "The Two Windmills" when "Les Deux Moulins" (sic?) hangs above the stage in lights.

"Dogfight" will be on my top ten musicals of the year. Loved it. Of course maybe because I identified with the musical the young Marines who were shipping out from San Francisco to go to Vietnam

I shipped out from San Francisco for the Pacific during World War 2 and I can remember that last night here in San Francisco. What a night.

Glad to hear it, Richard

Happy to hear your report (and memory!) - especially given the review in the BAR today.
(Although they loved ROLT's LIZZIE, which we're also seeing soon)

...and REALLY looking forward to CITY OF ANGELS

Google said I was an hour away by bus & Bart (same as the drive) and I wasn't sure about coming back at night on unfamiliar public transport. I think it was 2 Barts and a bus.

I guess I don't get your sign reference - they were in Paris, where the signs are in French, but they were speaking English, because they are performing for an American audience. That part made sense to me.

...and she didn't say "Northern Rail Station" or "Sacred Heart Basilica" (nmi)
