The article says this is the first time the Los Angeles has hosted an "extended-run theatrical production."

One could argue that the ten-week run of "Alma" back in 2004 counts, but whatever.

Actually, when I read that "Carrie" was moving into the Los Angeles, my first thought was of "Alma," and how the Los Angeles itself was a once-gorgeous space, badly in need of renovation, and with several, um, safety issues. (Uneven and broken flooring, plenty of audience seating closed off as unfit, and so forth.) I figured Carrie's non-traditional seating might be a good fit for the place, seeing as, when I was last in there eleven years ago, traditional seating using the entire auditorium wasn't an option.

I don't know how much renovating the owners have done in the interim. It would be great if the place has been fully restored (like the Orpheum) and we would have another big theatre downtown (although, yes, as the article mentions, it would help if parking were a bit more audience-friendly).
