LOVE LETTERS w. Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal at the WALLIS

Saw it this weekend and was very pleasantly surprised. The two leads were much more relaxed and confident than you might think, considering it's pretty much a stage debut for both of them. Mosher's direction supported the actors and probably helped them a great deal. Beyond all that, seeing Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal doing LOVE LETTERS brought back some very old fashioned theatrical values: sentiment and glamour. There were some bravos at the end, and a fair amount of tears. I'd catch this if I were you. (Posting here since there does not seem to be an L.A. critic anymore.)
