Few authors, IMO, would cannibalize their potential earnings from a legit film adaptation by selling off these rights. In my mind, that limits the majority of offerings to dead playwrights, foreign or non-Equity productions.

Plus, all of the 'Broadway' musical offerings can be purchased as DVDs.

In fact, there's a 3-4-1 DVD of J&H, Putting It Together and Smoke Joe's on Amazon for $20.83.
