| THREE DAY HANGOVER INTRODUCES A NEW ADAPTATION OF “TARTUFFE” SEX. DRUGS. POLITICS. NOVEMBER 4 TO NOVEMBER 21 “Joyous and smart! There is a place where inspiration and intoxication overlap and Three Day Hangover locates itself right there. Their shows deliver high-spirited fun and still get the text just right.” – Michael Emerson (Emmy Award winning actor from “Lost,” “The Practice” and “Person of Interest”) “A revelation! I am officially obsessed with Three Day Hangover and their amazing boozy theater!” – Carrie Preston (Emmy Award winning actress from “True Blood” and “The Good Wife”) THREE DAY HANGOVER – the acclaimed interactive theater company called “infectious and impressive” by The New York Times – will present a new adaptation of Molière’s classic farce from November 4 to November 21. The company recently moved into their own venue McAlpin Hall at The West Park Church (West 86th and Amsterdam Avenue) with a successful production of DRACULA, after staging several acclaimed shows in bars across the city with productions filled with drinking, drama and fun. TARTUFFE is adapted by Jack Brandman and directed by Beth Gardiner. THREE DAY HANGOVER, the creators of the long-running Off Broadway hit Drunk Shakespeare, is jumping into politics and the candidate to watch is this November is Tartuffe. They are re-imagining Molière’s searing comedy of hypocrites and heathens for our modern age and nothing brings out the best kind of worst in people like a U.S. Senate race. Coming at you from the left and the right, this fast-paced, dysfunctional family farce will be anything but politically correct as we roast and toast American politics as unusual. “TARTUFFE is going to be Three Day Hangover doing what we do best,” says director Beth Gardiner, “irreverent, smart, joyful storytelling presented in an unexpected, unforgettable and fun way. Re-framing this play against a political backdrop makes it outrageous, up-to-the-minute contemporary and hilarious. The colorful characters and over-the-top rhetoric in the current national political spotlight have added fuel to our fire. As always, we’ve incorporated drinking game shenanigans, which fit perfectly into the dysfunctional family dynamic at the center of the story. I’ve never had so much fun working on a play before!” The cast includes Jose Cagigal, Dustin Charles*, Leah Gabriel, Dillon Heape*, Carol Linnea Johnson*, Dan Morrison*, Tom Schwans*, Abbey Siegworth*, and Sean Tarrant* (*Actor is appearing courtesy of Actors’ Equity Association in an Equity Approved Showcase.) THREE DAY HANGOVER is a New York City theater company that produces fresh, unexpected, immersive, joyful productions of classic plays in unique locations. We meet our audiences on their turf, telling great stories and celebrating some of the most beautiful language in the world. We want our audiences to have a beer and relax, then we want them to lean forward and get swept up in the story told in a way they’ve never seen before. Past productions of The HAMLET Project: Summer in the City, R+J: Star-Cross’d Death Match, Twelfth Night or, Sir Toby Belch’s Lonely Hearts Club Cabaret, Drunkle Vanya, and Hank V enjoyed rave reviews, sold out runs and extensions and, most importantly, some of the feistiest, most engaged and raucous audiences New York City has ever seen. Last year, the company was commissioned to create the hit show, Drunk Shakespeare, which is currently running off-Broadway at The Lounge at Roy Arias Stages. TARTUFFE will be performed November 4 to November 21, with an opening night of November 6. The performance schedule is Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM at McAlpin Hall at The West Park Church, 165 Wes 86th Street at Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY 10024. Tickets, which are $15, are currently on sale at ThreeDayHangover.com. A full bar will be available throughout the evening. ----------------------------------------------------- JAKE BRANDMAN (Adapter) is a playwright, lyricist and bookwriter whose work has been performed at venues ranging from Joe's Pub to the Laurie Beechman Theater to the Library at Lincoln Center.
