The readings will be held on Monday, November 2 @ 6pm and Tuesday November 3 @ 3pm & 7pm, at The Playroom Theatre (151 West 46th Street, 8th Floor – between Broadway & 6th Avenue).

The following week is A Taste of Chocolate, a new musical with book, music and lyrics by Timothy Ware. Directed by Dan Knechtges (Lysistrata Jones) with Musical Direction by Dionne McClain-Freeney, the readings will be held on Monday, November 9th at 4pm and Tuesday, November 10th at 2pm at The Pit Loft (154 West 29th Street - between 6th & 7th Avenues).

In Gotta Getta Girl, Gene and Don, a Vaudeville tap dancing duo are forced to re-evaluate their unsuccessful career in show business when they decide they “gotta getta girl” into the act -- even if it means keeping Don from the one thing he's always wanted: Gene! When their new and adorable tap dancing beauty, Debbie, turns out to be more than what meets the eyes, Don is forced to take drastic steps to win back his man. The MGM Movie Musical that never was – on stage! The show was a 2011 New York Musical Theatre (NYMF) Official Selection. There were earlier staged readings in November 2014.

The cast of Gotta Getta Girl is Nicholas Dromard (Mary Poppins, Wicked), Michael LaMasa and Brieghanna Minnema.

Unable to live up to his father’s expectations, Coffee, a preacher’s kid from Alabama, finds sanctuary in the world of spoken word. Beat poetry is his religion, but the true meaning of love is found in A Taste of Chocolate. Sweeter words were never spoken. There were earlier staged readings in January 2015.

The cast of A Taste of Chocolate is: Kristen Browne (Murder Ballad), Alex Chester (Oh God, We’re Gonna Die), Steven M. Goldsmith (Rock of Ages), Albert Guerzon (Honeymoon in Vegas), Kingsley Leggs (Sister Act), Kimberly Marable (The Lion King), Patrick Murney (The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner), Alexandra Nader (Skippyjon Jones), Julius Anthony Rubio (Wonderland), Jason Veasey (The Lion King), Marisha Wallace (Aladdin), Timothy Ware (Kinky Boots) and Virginia Woodruff (Violet).

Both of these presentations are part of the ongoing Amas Musical Theatre Lab, a development series for writers, lyricists and composers to mount public readings of their new musicals. The Amas Musical Theatre Lab is supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and by the Actors’ Equity Association Foundation, BMI Foundation, the Barbara Bell Cumming Foundation, the Lucille Lortel Foundation, the Frederick Loewe Foundation, the Shubert Foundation, the Michael Tuch Foundation, and through the generous support of many individuals.
