Adorable curtain call mishap at The King and I last night!

Posted by: LikeABladeOfCorn 12:39 pm EDT 10/29/15

I went back to The King and I last night. The show is in excellent shape, with Hoon Lee proving himself to be a very worthy king with a charming air of self-satisfaction.

Everything ran like clockwork through most of the ensemble and featured bows, but then Ruthie Ann Miles (still a powerhouse Lady Thiang) stepped backward from her bow, slipped and fell into a sitting position. Kelli O'Hara and Hoon Lee, entering just in time to see this, promptly fell down themselves. The majority of the cast spent the remainder of the bows somewhere between a chuckle and hyperventilation. It was a darling moment from an obviously close-knit company.
