Report back on Spring Awakening TDF seat

Posted by: Kaoru 07:24 pm EDT 10/29/15

Thank you for those who gave me a feedback on the seating location of SA TDF tickets. I got one for Sunday night and it was row H Center orchestra section two seats from the aisle. My neighbor (aisle seat) never showed up. I loved the seat I got. It was a Sunday night so the Orchestra section was pretty full (maybe 90% full). I couldn't see how full the Mezzanine floor though.

It was a beautiful show and I liked it but did not love like Big River. I felt the subtitles were distractive (except the school scene). I wanted to focus on the deaf actors' signing but at the same time had to glance at the subtitle. In the original L.A. production, it was reported that during the scene between Mortiz and his father, it was done only by ASL. Not sure why the director decided a subtitle was necessary because I'm sure the hearing audience could deduce what's going on even if it were done ASL only.
