This was done in San Diego in the early 80s with Brian [not yet Stokes] Mitchell in the lead. The show got protested and picketed by local feminist groups as being, as you put it, "rapey". (What a word.) The women in the show thought nothing of it, and audiences thoroughly enjoyed it. Take that as you may.
