It's a not-uncommon example of a once great playwright continuing to get high-profile opportunities and continuing to attract major stars based on the stellar reputation he deservedly established through his early work, even though many people feel the quality of the plays he has written over the past two decades has been generally quite poor. (I seem to recall some good reviews for RACE, but I really didn't like that one, either.)

I'm not including CHINA DOLL in my assessment, because I have not yet seen or read it. At least he's not directing this one....
