One more time: don't believe ANYTHING you read in the Daily Mail, including the date, until you get it corroborated by a more reliable source.

You know, like Fox News.

"It's been corroborated."

In a reliable print source, with quotes attributed to named individuals rather than "sources close to the production"?

Pacino is a force to be reckoned with...according to the publicity folks, read his bio from the link. He's a shadow of his former self...

Come see the show & you'll take that article more seriously.

So no, the Mail's article hasn't been corroborated in print anywhere else.

I'm shocked.

As a playwright, Mamet "left the building"...

...about 15-20 years ago. His recent plays have ranged from mediocre to excruciating. It's difficult to imagine how this one might amount to much more. Such a sad fall.

Why so sad? I don't think he cares...otherwise the product would be good.

Self-parody and collecting checks...that's the name of the game.

Did this script have any development?

That's the pertinent question. The last couple have arrived on B'way seemingly with only a few table reads, no traditional shake-down with a company and director and even a workshop-like climate with invited audiences. It's a question here, but a valid one. Plays are shaped, built, honed, reshaped rather than emerge intact from the computer. It's strange to imagine any play arriving in a full production with a star and first tier director attached without prior development.
