it's not very often that I get to correct AlanScott

but I'm sure as Alan knows, PRETTYBELLE is one of the more infamous shows to close in Boston before ever landing on the GREAT WHITE WAY

So, if "Prettybelle"
was ever to resurface it would be eligible for best new musical , almost as likely as THE PINK JUNGLE becoming eligible for BEST PLAY

I'm not sure what you're correcting. The use of revival? I know I was speaking a bit freely, but it's been produced. So a new production would be a revival. Not a New York revival, but a revival.

And, let's face it, a production of Prettybelle would be like reviving something from the dead.

Fun score. Some lovely music. Crazy fuckin' script, but interesting.

Also, about as un-politically correct as possible, though she does try to avenge a wrong in her own way.

Interesting: 'Prettybelle' was playing at the Shubert in Boston while FOLLIES was at the Colonial in 1971

Wonder if Miss Lansbury was ever considered for FOLLIES ?
