I don't agree that DAMES is a perfect anything in 2015. Nothing about an homage to Busby Berkeley screams "kids" today. I appreciate the fervor, but the show is a parody of the 30s, filtered through the 70s. It's about -- and employs the tropes and musical theater lexicon of -- two eras disconnected from this one. It's sweet, cute, and an odd piece for revival. Odder still for the Macy's Parade. I wish it well, if the audience is out there.

But why would these producers, who've already made dubious financial decisions, invest in a 100 grand Parade performance?
