Thanks for the explanation. If you haven't done so, look at what LMM has said about all this on Genius, which someone linked above. To me the level of discourse on Genius about Hamilton speaks volumes. I think there would be cause for concern if LMM had changed the essential history, but he doesn't; what he does do is crystallize the way that history informs the politics of the 21st Century.
