Try watching "Love Me Tonight"; Rodgers and Hart and director Rouben Mamoulian had it right at the nearly the beginning of the sound era, starring the wonderful Maurice Chevalier, Jeanette MacDonald and Myrna Loy.

"Top Hat"
"Singin' in the Rain"
"The Music Man"
"The Young Girls of Rochefort"
among some other favorites that bring enjoyment on numerous viewings
