I have to agree...I think it's one of his best performances. I wish the play were better remembered. It's really funny and, for once, Simon didn't have to figure out how to shoehorn jokes into a situation...the situation and the characters called for as many jokes as he could get down on paper. I will always remember Nathan Lane, in a scene where his character is trying very hard to control his explosive temper, somehow turning his face three different shades of purple before finally losing his shit. It was a master class.
