This is the first show in a long while that, literally, left me shaking. So deeply moving and sad and scary. I can't stop thinking about it.

It's a somber and unusual topic for a musical but so was THE VISIT. Kander often considers dark subject matter.

Brandon Flynn's portrayal of the traumatized youth is breathtaking. His ambivalence and inner conflicts are palpable. Jeffry Denman is frightening and intense. Karen Ziemba is in fine voice. David Garrison is quietly compassionate and affecting as the father.

I really wish it wasn't closing tomorrow, because I would see it again in a heartbeat.
