Why do you feel that it wasn't Wilder's play? I've only seen it, in a few productions, but from what I saw, this was the first production i've encountered that fully understood how to make sense of the play. Unlike in previous productions, I found that Arbus and her team made the play crystal clear, and that she managed to reconcile all of the disparate influences and contradictions of the play in a way that honored them while keeping them from pulling the evening apart (as I have seen in the past).

What do you look for in this play that she and her team didn't bring to it?
