I'm confused. Just before the show opened, there was ALL that publicity about the dispute between the Broadway producer of THE GREAT COMET and Ars Nova over credit, and it was reported at the time that the dispute might result in Josh Groban having to miss the Ars Nova gala because at least one of the recording sessions for the cast album had been scheduled for the same date as the gala, and the Broadway producer was supposedly refusing to change the date. Checking back just now, I see that the Ars Nova gala was held on December 5.
So are you saying that the recording sessions were pushed back from December 5 all the way t the second week in February? There are several reasons why I don't understand why that would have happened, including the fact that it considerably delayed the release of the album and the opportunity for all of those Josh Groban fans to buy the recording at the theater (and elsewhere) while he is still in the show.
If anyone has any more details, I'd be interested to know them. And Ann, I could be wrong, but I really don't think the listing I saw on Amazon was unauthorized. What would be the point of such a listing? And doesn't Amazon police that kind of thing very carefully?
