  • Last week, ended April 16 and which included the Passover and Easter holidays, Broadway grosses totaled $41,151,035 for 40 shows.

In the prior week, ended April 9, Broadway grosses totaled $35,186,717 for the same 40 shows.

In the same week last year, Broadway grosses totaled $27,177,089 for 37 shows. (In 2016, Easter fell on March 27. Grosses that week were $31,485,175 for 34 shows.)

  • With the Passover and Easter holidays, Broadway had a very good week, especially for family shows.

    — 19 shows grossed over $1million

    — 4 shows grossed over $2 million, but three of them -- The Lion King, Wicked and Aladdin -- played a 9-performance week instead of the usual 8

    — Hello, Dolly! grossed over $2 million as well but, most impressively, for just 7 performances

    — And, of course, Hamilton grossed over $3 million for the usual 8 performances.

  • Paramour closed at the Lyric Theatre on April 16 after 31 previews and 366 performances with a total cumulative gross of $50,071,361. That was about 58% of its potential gross at the large venue.

In Transit closed at Circle in the Square on April 16 after 36 previews and 145 performances at a loss of at least $7 million. Cumulative gross was $6,075,958 or 37% of its potential gross.
