it is the unquestionable lack of chemistry between Crawford and McAndrew that just kills the film for me, and even more specifically his moronic, arch, elementary school performance. I just don't understand why the two of them were cast opposite one another. He was very hot right then in film, I remember that from when I was young. But she won the role over the likes of Ann-Margret and other actresses much better known than she. I tend to dismiss her performance but I think that is just because most of her scenes are with Crawford. Also, on the dubbed note, the friend I saw the movie with originally was hard of hearing and she caught that McAndrew's lip-syncing is not always spot on.
