And for the last three months, he had an alternate. Then he did it on tour for two or three months. That was it until his later returns to the role, which he did reprise at the Beaumont for a limited run in 1972 (with an alternate for Wednesday and Saturday matinees), and then on several more tours and another run in New York in 1977 (and even then he had an alternate for Wednesday matinees for at least part of the run). He also did it in London. And before anyone jumps in, he did not open it in London, but it came back with him the following year although for only three months (I think because it just never caught on there).
