IBDB lists at least eight replacements for Kiley at various points during the orignal run (which lasted from 1965-1971 and moved through four different theatres, ending in the Mark Hellinger). Among them - in addition to Jack Dabdoub mentioned below by AlanScott - were David Atkinson, John Cullum, Jose Ferrer, Laurence Guittard, and Keith Michell, at least three of whom I remember being billed in advertising when they took over.

And for several months in the fall of 1968, while MAN OF LA MANCHA was still running, Kiley was rather busy playing Caesar to Leslie Uggams's Cleopatra in HER FIRST ROMAN, which left him little time to mistake Aldonzas for Dulcineas.
