I have no source on this, Alan, but IIRC Keith Michell had a longer stint as a replacement than the other stars in the "International Festival." He was already an established star over here from IRMA LA DOUCE and Anouilh's THE REHEARSAL, and of course there was no problem about his English.

The other big attrachtion in that series was Claudio Brook, a very handsome and magnetic actor who was not only a Mexican stage star but something of an international film star: He had had major roles in several Bunuel movies (including the then-recent MILKY WAY and SIMON OF THE DESERt) and in Louis Malle's trashy-silly VIVA MARIA with Bardot and Jeanne Moreau.
