I completely agree. I haven't stopped listening since the CD was released. Why was this show so under appreciated? The vocal performances alone are so outstanding (Corey and Laura have lots of big singing to do 8 times a week!) and I can't wait to go cheer them on in the theatre again.
And while it's already been mentioned on here before, I need to repeat - Bandstand was robbed of a Tony for Best Score and Best Musical!!
CFA had no business being nominated for either, but I suppose the timing of it's arrival on Broadway, in this era of Trump, its message hit home and overshadowed its many weaknesses.
But enough about that, this is about BANDSTAND. Here's hoping that more and more theatregoers discover this exciting new musical. |
