I wish I could share the enthusiasm of you and the folks who've posted below. Maybe the score would grow on me if I heard the recording. Hearing it in the theatre, I thought it was diligent and reasonably well crafted but kind of bloodless. And while there's a degree of intelligence and craft about the show as a whole, I just basically didn't buy much of it. The characters seemed so constructed, but not constructed well enough, not constructed with sufficient artistry. They seemed like ideas rather than people. Of course, most plays and musicals start with ideas about characters, but the artistry comes in the ability to make the characters seem like real people. For me, that didn't happen there. There are plays and musicals in which the characters are not supposed to seem like real people, or in which other things are at work that negate the need for them to seem like real people, but this is not one of those.

And the last 10-15 minutes are just not believable in plot terms and to seemed like a betrayal of what the evening was supposed to be.

It's an honorable effort (at least till the last 10-15 minutes), but for me it was not a convincing one.
