I was actually surprised and impressed that Spacey got Robin Wright and Michael Kelly to do what was essentially a walk-on, uncredited cameo for the House of Cards bit. Not that the bit was good.
And House of Cards was a very early example of how non-cable, streaming services can produce their own high-quality television and gain audience and stature. Spacey did well with it. The show set the ball rolling for Orange Is The New Black, Transparent, The Man in the High Castle, and Grace and Frankie—all with Emmy nominations. |
