| I thought she is just Miss Money (no first name mentioned) and the character called Ernestina (seen in I Put My Hand) pretends to be her. So it was kind of the same plan. Ernestina is also in the 14th Street Parade dressed as a Wagnerian opera singer. So I'm thinking Lehman's version elaborated this. My observations are from the original Broadway prod. when Mary Jo Catlett played Ernestina. I can still hear her say, "and some ladyfingers." |
