I wouldn't go so far as pretentious, but I did feel that it was rather underbaked, with whisps of a play rather than the real thing.
The set was much like the play: architecturally impressive, but quite empty (and on the night we were there, the final effect malfunctioned, not that I think it would have helped my experience significantly).
Much like "A Life", this was a play that many people fell in love with that left me extremely cold and unsatisfied. |
