| Ball was still capable in 1968 of a giving a good film performance as evidenced by Yours, Mine, and Ours. She's hilarious on the Wildcat OBC recording. I can definitely see her as Dolly. Who would have been a good directing choice -- Robert Wise, Vincente Minnelli? Although I've never heard her name mentioned as a possible Dolly, she's such a great actress and so versatile that I'll bet that Angela Lansbury would have been excellent in a Hello Dolly! film. |
