| I'm not sure what you're looking for as far as buzz, but I saw the world premiere at Steppenwolf about a decade ago and found it to be wildly uneven and not nearly as profound as it takes itself to be. Norris takes a mildly inventive idea and doesn't do much interesting with it. Of course, there's a chance it's been tinkered with over the years, and I'll probably end up seeing it out of curiosity, but I wouldn't say it's one of Norris's major works. The cast looks solid, although Stephen Kunken and Celia Keenan-Bolger are roughly similar in age; in the production I saw, the two characters (in a romantic relationship) differed in age, which was an important pain point to the story. |
