I don't much care about who is cast as H H, I've seen many who were fine in the part, but that is not true of Eliza. I never saw Julie Andrews, but based on 2 cast albums featuring her, I suspect she was excellent. Not so much several of the replacements on Broadway and on tour (exception for Sally Ann Howes who always seemed to be under appreciated because Julie was just a tiny bit more exciting). Based again, only on the recording, I bet Christine Andreas was an excellent Eliza, as she was an outstanding Laurie in Oklahoma. Another underappreciated leading lady. The only truly fine Eliza I ever saw was Lisa O'Hare in a Cameron MacIntosh Production that toured extensively. This was not the only production she played Eliza in, but now she is beyond the age where she could play it.

Please GOD that they aren't planning this for Kelli O'Hara, who I much admire in most of what she has done (by far the finest Julie Jordan I've ever come close to seeing) but just as Anna was really not ideal for her, Eliza is even less so. Sure, she could sing it, and not everybody can, but she can't act it or BE her.
