My guess is Lucille Ball did not realize how difficult it could be to carry a new musical that did not receive good reviews.
Because there's little doubt that Lucy just after "I Love Lucy" and "The Lucy, Desi Comedy Hour" ended was certainly as big a star as Bette Midler now. |
