Alan, while it is true Laura had some respiratory problems in the beginning of She Love Me, it wasn't until she was pregnant with severe morning sickness for the last two months of the run that she got an alternate. Having experienced severe morning sickness myself (best described as a horrible flu and the worst food poisoning you have ever had combined and it lasts for months) I cannot imagine how she threw herself across the bed to look for her shoe, jumped down on the bed for the end of Ice Cream or was able to breathe deeply enough to sing the way she did. She wasn't fragile; she was Herculean.
