I'd forgotten about the pregnancy. I agree with what you say about her ability to continue in it being Herculean. Still, no matter how you look at it, you have to go back her run in The Sound of Music for an example of her doing a vocally demanding leading role eight times a week for a longish run. You also note that she had respiratory problems that caused her to miss performances early in the She Loves Me run. It may not be fair, but I'd be a little surprised if someone felt confident to hire her to do this role eight times a week, although she is so talented that perhaps they'd think it was worth it. At minimum, they'd probably want to have an alternate from the beginning. And, indeed, no matter who is cast in it, they might go that route.
I do think that she'd probably be quite good in the role, even at 37. If she does do it, I'd love to see her. |
