Could you amplify this statement:
"I don't think documentary theater which is assembled from interviews should be used as an excuse for what you see as the play's deficiencies but it factored into the way I watched the play."
I have seen and admired many plays created from such a journalistic/sociological crucible, from "Laramie Project" to the extraordinary pieces presented by Anna Devere Smith. I bring no such bias to my appraisal, at least not known. |
