| De Havilland over the last few decades has done a number of interviews -- mostly on TCM and a few more recently on 60 Minutes. She has scrupulously cultivated an image of class, dignity, and surprising wit. I've never heard her say an unflattering word about anyone in the film industry. The scenes in Feud with her being interviewed by Hopper just didn't ring true. I assume they were written because of her role in the Charlotte movie. However, Murphy would have been better off creating a role for Joan Fontaine in the series since she had worked with Crawford in the 30's and was known for making catty, bitchy remarks about industry folk whom she believed slighted her in some way. |
