Yes, in The Women. Fontaine is actually present in two scenes with Crawford and others: in the scene right after the fashion show where Crawford and Shearer are both selecting gowns (although as yet they don't know who the other one is) and at the film's end end in the ladies powder room. However, Fontaine and Crawford never exchange any dialogue.

Of course, there are all kinds of stories about what went on behind the scenes during the filming of The Women. Crawford's feud with Shearer was at the time more famous than the one with Davis. Cukor had just been fired from Gone With the Wind supposedly at Clark Gable's insistence. Now for the first time he would be directing Crawford who knew absolutely all the dirt about Gable's relationship with Bill Haines and also had personally experienced his occasional inadequacy in the bed department with women. Oh to have been a fly on the wall for some of the conversations that may have taken place when the camera wasn't rolling!

I enjoyed Feud for its trashiness. However, I can never recall De Havilland giving the kind of awkward interviews depicted in the series. Now Fontaine -- that was another matter.
