Adam Jacobs stayed in the title role of Aladdin on Broadway for 3 years before departing to do the tour, which opened in Chicago in April and plays there through September before going onto its next stop.
However, Disney's official site does not list him as being in the tour cast anymore. Instead, it says the lead role is currently being played by Jacob Dickey.
Has Adam Jacobs left the tour already? If he signed a new contract for the touring production, it seems a little early for that to be up, and considering how long he stayed with the Broadway company I expected he would be in it longer than a few months in one stop on the road.
Does anyone know anything? I am planning to see the show in LA in January and would very much like to see him, as I am a big fan of his work on the cast album. I'm sure Mr. Dickey would also be excellent, too, but since I can't go to New York, I was getting excited about a rare chance to see the original lead in a non-NY locale. |
