| If Rodgers felt that strongly about it, I wonder why Muriel Smith wasn't cast as Bloody Mary in the film. Clearly, in addition to singing it, she played the role well enough to have originated it in London. If Rodgers preferred her singing at the time when the film was made, why not just cast her, rather than just having her dub Juanita Hall? Was Hall that well known that her name would've added cache to the film? |
